Twentieth, Los Angeles’ respected contemporary design gallery, is pleased to present HENZEL STUDIO COLLABORATIONS. The Los Angeles summer-long show will feature a selection of bespoke art rugs from some of the most prominent names in contemporary art, and will debut new collaborative pieces by artists Ashley Bickerton, Olaf Breuning, Sanford Biggers, Carsten Höller, Jonathan Horowitz, Jack Pierson, Tony Oursler, Jwan Yosef and Lawrence Weiner. It will will also include collaborations with Helmut Lang, Scott Campbell and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, as well as introduce a new and separate capsule collection with the designers of Videre Licet. Launching on June 20, as part of the LA Design Festival, the exhibition will take place at THE NEW, Twentieth’s neighboring exhibition space that crosses the boundaries of art and design. Curated by Joakim Andreasson and designed in close collaboration with Calle Henzel, the program of artist-designed rugs is an unprecedented project that challenges the media of hand-knotted rugs and serves as a study of the boundaries between decorative arts and fine art.
